If you love the outdoors, South Deerfield is a great place to stay. In just a short drive, you can zip line or ski at Berkshire East, go whitewater rafting at CrabApple Whitewater, kayak with Moxie Outdoor Adventures, or rockclimb at Zoars Outdoor.
The Red Roof Inn is close to three private boarding schools, Bement, Deerfield Academy, and Eaglebrook School. We are also just a short drive to Hallmark Institute of Photography, UMASS, Amherst College, Smith College, Hampshire College, and Mount Holyoke.
Spend some time shopping at nearby Northampton, located on the banks of the scenic Connecticut river. Enjoy Thorns Market, and get something to eat at their many local restaurants. While you are there, enjoy hiking or taking a stroll on the Norwottock rail trail, an 11 mile path that links to Amherst.
